In one of my devotions this week with CH Spurgeon (my favorite devotional writer) was, as God would never forget his promises reminds us. The writing was Genesis 9: 13-15, where God tells Noah that the rainbow is a covenant or promise between them and the whole earth, that he will never send a flood on earth again. But the crux of this passage is in verse 15 where God says that when you see the rainbow, he will not forget his promise. Thus,To see the promises of God does not depend on our memory, but his own. Praise the Lord!
Here is an activity that uses the colors of the rainbow, to remind your children that even if we forget the promises of God, will always remember them.
To get started, you will cut, strips of colored paper that can be found in rainbow colors. For example, you could cut strips of red, yellow, green, blue, purple, orange and pink. Display each of thecolored stripes on a table. At this point, take some time before the story of God's promise to Noah to share over the rainbow. A pre-image Bible should be a nice presentation. Now to go to each of the colors. Your children can also learn the names of each color.
After your explanation, the children close their eyes while you remove one or more of the paper. Let the children open their eyes and say, "Do you remember the color of the rainbow washere? "If the child guessed it, the praise for their efforts. If you fail to say:" OK if you do not remember, because God will always remember his promises. "Play the game several times and have fun!
